The National Assembly Budget Office selected 98 controversial issues, analyzing current conditions and problems of them in order to strengthen FY 2007 Settlement of Accounts. It includes Rental House Support Program, National Pensions Fund and other over-invested programs.

Rental House Support Program, of which the total budget reaches to 4.7 trillion won, did not perform well enough to contribute to stabilization of people’s livelihood. Although the completion ratio of construction reaches only 26%, 13,055 houses are remained unsold. Considering current situation, problems are pointed out that housing supply plan did not satisfy demand. Moreover, poor management of National Pension Fund is also pointed out. National Pension Fund’s investment in overseas stock achieved a return of 3.7% which is much lower than a return of 33.4% from domestic stock. In addition, there are some cases wasting such as digital budget account system project, and multi-reign water supply project which have been disqualified but still start operating.
