Bill Cost Estimates Team of National Assembly Budget Office(NABO) has provided cost estimates of bills requiring budget at the requests of members or committees of the National Assembly to show how it would affect governmental spending over the next five years or more. Cases of Estimates for Bills in 2006, the third casebook since 2004, has been worked out based on cost estimates in 2006.

This casebook is composed of three parts. In the first part, it covers list of cost estimates for bills requested and submitted since the opening of 17th National Assembly. In the next part, seventeen most important cases in 2006 regarding organization, work, compensation and welfare are analyzed with explanatory notes. In addition, this book also contains many kind of statements giving reason for not appending cost estimates. In the last part, law and ordinances related to introduction of bill cost estimate system in Korea are addressed.
